Posts: 85 (01/27/08 18:21:47) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None Hi Folks, Tour groups travelling with us during the first part of this year will have an oportunity to check out some scenery built for an upcoming film- 'Wolverine'. They have built two log cabins- one on Kelvin Heights and the other out at Glenorchy. The latter is scheduled to be blown up! Filming starts in February. No news on The Hobbit front but excitement is building!

I didn't know what this 'Wolverine' film was about until I looked it up just now. Oh, that Wolverine! If anybody else is wondering, it appears to be an X-Men prequel about Hugh Jackman's character Logan and how he became the mutant Wolverine. The previous X-Men were filmed in Canada, I think. Interesting how many more films seem to be coming to NZ now! Speaking of other films, is there any chance you could add some Narnia locations to the tour? Dart Stables ride by this location. As for the original Narrnia film, only the final battle scene was located outdoors in NZ. Doesn't fit in with the present itinerary. The Hobbit and prequel is our focus now.

Well, perhaps Sir Ian will be masterminding around the sets....now THAT would be great. I can remember, I think, some mention of 'Narnia' sites when we rode through the Glenorchy area with Dart Stables. The whole wooded area you ride through is mossy green and silent; just room enough for the thud of horses hooves. You expect a group of elves to ride across your path at any moment or a troop of Uruks to come running hell bent for heads over the top of a hill...then you turn a corner and there is the Wizard's Vale spread out before you like icing on a wonderland of valley floor twisted with braided streams and backed by snow topped mountains. Now THAT was some afternoon. Yo 'Hobbit'. I can't wait for August and hopefully some 'sightings' or whiffs of something promising in the air! Woo hoo!
